South Carolina AG Pushes for Death Penalty in Murder of College Student

South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson has called on a local prosecutor to pursue the death penalty against the suspect accused of killing 22-year-old college student Logan Federico during a home invasion.

The suspect, described as a career criminal with a history of offenses, is facing charges in connection with Federico’s death. Attorney General Wilson urged the solicitor handling the case to “do the right thing” by seeking the maximum punishment allowed under state law.

Logan Federico’s father also voiced his support for the move, describing the death penalty as “justice for Logan.” The family continues to grieve the loss of their son, whose life was cut short in what authorities described as a violent and senseless act.

The case has drawn widespread attention across South Carolina, with many calling for harsher consequences for repeat offenders involved in violent crimes.
